Amazon offers access to a variety of streaming services through its Prime Video Channels service, and one of them is HBO Max.
To subscribe to any of these streaming services through Prime Video an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription is required.
If you already have either a Prime or Prime Video subscription, you can easily add any of these additional streaming services, including HBO Max.

Free HBO Max Trial Through The Roku Channel
For those using a Roku device, or with access to the Roku app, it is possible to sign up to a variety of streaming services through The Roku Channel. Unlike Prime Video, Roku doesn’t require a base subscription to sign up to streaming services, including HBO Max.

Unlike Prime Video and The Roku Channel, YouTube currently only offers the option to sign up to the HBO Max Standard plan. While this is an ad-free subscription, it is not the cheapest HBO Max tier, so this is something new subscribers will want to keep in mind during the free trial.
HBO Max Subscriptions Auto-Renew At The Usual Price
Similar to other free trials, the HBO Max subscription will automatically renew at the full price at the end of the free trial, and this is regardless of whether signing up through Prime Video, The Roku Channel or YouTube.
If signing up for a free trial of the HBO Max Basic With Ads plan through Prime Video or The Roku Channel, the subscription will auto-renew at the usual price, currently $9.99/month.
If signing up to a free trial of the HBO Max Standard plan through Prime Video, The Roku Channel or YouTube, the subscription will auto-renew at usual price, currently $16.99/month.
For those that don’t want to continue as a paid subscriber, they will need to make sure they manually cancel the subscription before the end of the free trial.
As the subscription is created and managed through either Prime Video, The Roku Channel or YouTube, subscribers will also have to cancel the subscription through the same service they created the subscription with.
