What You Need to Know

  • The latest Apple TV 4K player is now official and available to pre-order beginning today.
  • The device features a brand-new A19 chip that significantly speeds up processing and graphics capabilities.
  • The new streaming player also introduces a completely rebuilt, full-screen version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence.

As to be expected with a new Apple TV player, Apple is positioning this latest model as its more powerful and capable device to date.

For example, the included A19 chip is said to offer up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance compared to the previous generation, resulting in greater responsiveness, faster navigation, and smoother animations.

The A19 chip also includes a new, dedicated AV1 decoder, which Apple says will result in more efficient and high-quality video streaming in general.

“The new Apple TV 4K is our most immersive home theater experience yet,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.

Some of the other headline features include:

  • A new Siri Remote with Find My support and Precision Finding.
  • Three far-field microphones for a fully hands-free experience.
  • The ability to create a four-speaker surround sound experience with HomePod mini 2.
  • An improved smart Home Hub experience.

The latest Apple TV 4K is now available to pre-order in the U.S. (and 29 other countries), with shipping due to begin from November 13, 2026.

In terms of pricing, the Apple TV 4K (4th generation) costs $299 in the U.S., or $49.83 per month over six months when buying with Apple Card Monthly Installments.

From Apple’s perspective, the biggest selling point with the new Apple TV 4K is the use of Siri AI, an entirely new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence.

According to Apple, Siri AI is “profoundly” better at conversing with the user and understanding personal context. This is in addition to knowing more in general and being better able to perform even greater systemwide actions.

As an example of the better conversing, Apple says users can now ask Siri questions like “What Apple TV shows won at the Emmy Awards this year?” and not only receive an answer but also see poster art pulled directly from the Apple TV app and receive relevant suggestions like “More award-winning comedies.”

To highlight the broader knowledge base, Apple explains that users can ask Siri AI follow-up questions while watching a title and receive deeper insights. For example, “Where was Pluribus filmed?” while watching Pluribus.

Unlike the general Siri experience, responses to questions while watching appear in a compact overlay that’s designed to not detract too much from the viewing experience, while still providing all the necessary information.

“With Siri AI, finding something to watch becomes a full-screen, conversational experience, and with built-in far-field microphones, it’s completely hands-free. Pair it with HomePod for the best surround sound setup we’ve ever offered, and it makes managing your Apple Home accessories easier than ever. Now, alongside HomeView, HomePod mini 2, and Apple Home Collection, it’s part of the most connected Apple Home we’ve ever built,” added Borchers.

While an upgrade to the experience, Apple explained that Siri AI is currently only available as a beta on Apple TV 4K. It is also currently limited to select locations, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the UK, at launch.
