Tubi is diving deeper into creator content, thanks to a new partnership with TikTok. The partnership will result in more creator-led and focused content coming to the free streaming service.
Key Takeaways
- Tubi is partnering with TikTok to develop original, creator‑led series that will premiere exclusively on Tubi.
- With support to build premium shows across scripted and unscripted genres, the Creatorverse Incubator will help TikTok creators expand into long‑form storytelling.
- Tubi’s creator library is rapidly scaling, and has already grown to include more than 16,000 episodes from over 200 creators.
Over the past year, Tubi has continually expanded its creator-led library. In June, Tubi launched a ‘Tubi For Creators’ program to support select content creators like Jubilee, Kinigra Deon, Rhett and Link, and Watcher.
By August, the program expanded to include more creators, including Jimmy Donaldson (aka MrBeast), Alan’s Universe, Jomboy Media, CelinaSpookyBoo, and Steven He, among others.
Later in the year, the company announced its first slate of exclusive digital-first creator series.
Today, Tubi announced the next stage of its creator-driven expansion will include a partnership with TikTok. Through a Creatorverse Incubator, Tubi and TikTok will support select TikTok creators in developing original shows for Tubi.
These shows will then premiere exclusively on Tubi.
The original series will span various genres, including both scripted and unscripted formats, and Tubi says the first wave of selected creators will be announced in the summer.
“Tubi is doubling down on giving creators a real bridge from digital platforms to premium long-form storytelling,” said Rich Bloom, General Manager of Creator Programs and Executive Vice President of Business Development at Tubi. “TikTok has become one of the most powerful engines for discovering creative voices and building passionate communities at scale. This partnership allows us to work with successful TikTok creators who are ready to take the next step creatively, expanding their fandoms to new audiences on Tubi and bringing Tubi fans more stories they can’t find anywhere else.”
For those that use TikTok often, the partnership will also result in more exposure to the Tubi platform on TikTok. For example, TikTok Spotlight will be used to help drive fan conversation to these original series on Tubi.
“TikTok is committed to empowering creators on our platform and throughout their career journey,” said Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment Partnerships at TikTok. “Our creators have built deeply engaged audiences on TikTok, and our partnership with Tubi will give the next generation of entertainers more opportunities to expand their audiences, tell bigger stories, and turn their creativity into lasting impact.”
Tubi previously explained its expansion into creator content has had a big impact on the free service, with users responding positively to the arrival of the new content.
After confirming its creator content library had grown to more than 10,000 titles from over 100 creators in November, Tubi now says the library includes more than 16,000 episodes from more than 200 creators.
With the move seemingly working in Tubi’s favor, it is not surprising that the library of creator-led content has expanded so quickly, and will continue to expand in the future.
