What You Need to Know

  • MSG Networks and YES Network are changing their DTC strategy, making DAZN the streaming home for major New York–area teams.
  • The migration will also result in the shuttering of the Gotham Sports app.
  • Existing Gotham Sports users and live‑TV subscribers who get MSG or YES are expected to eventually migrate to DAZN.

Back in early 2024, YES Network and MSG Networks jointly formed Gotham Advanced Media and Entertainment (GAME). This resulted in the launch of the Gotham Sports app later the same year.

With the two sports networks moving to DAZN, the Gotham Sports app and service are now in the process of shutting down.

“The New York sports landscape has a rich heritage of teams and DAZN is honored to partner with both the YES Network and MSG Networks to become their exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home, bringing the Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Nets, Devils, Islanders, and Sabres to more fans than ever before,” said Shay Segev, CEO, DAZN Group.

According to the announcement, current users of the Gotham Sports app will continue to receive uninterrupted access for the time being, with the expectation they will eventually migrate over to DAZN during the 2026-2027 NBA and NHL seasons.

Likewise, subscribers who receive MSG Networks or YES Network as part of their live TV package will continue to receive MSG and YES content at no additional cost, albeit via the DAZN platform.

Along with live Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Devils, Islanders and Sabres games, subscribers within the networks’ respective regional coverage territories will also be able to access 24/7 feeds of MSG, MSG Sportsnet, and YES networks.

This is in addition to a variety of on-demand content, including highlights, behind-the-scenes programming, and original series.

“This is what DAZN does best – connecting fans to the sport they love and creating immersive digital experiences that go far beyond the game. It is a defining moment for us and underscores our commitment to expanding our footprint in the United States,” added Segev.
