What You Need to Know

  • DirecTV to broadcast local regular-season games for five NBA teams.
  • Home-territory customers on eligible DirecTV packages can watch live on designated channels.
  • The partnership also includes DirecTV for Business, allowing sports bars and restaurants to screen the games in each team’s region.

While still available to watch via DAZN, DirecTV streaming, satellite, and U-verse customers in each team’s respective NBA-designated home territory will also be able to watch live.

These DAZN telecasts will be available to DirecTV streaming and satellite customers (Choice or higher) and U-verse TV customers (U200 or higher). Fans can watch live games, as well as pregame and postgame programming, on the following channels.

  • Cleveland Cavaliers: channel 660 (streaming, satellite) and 1734/734 (U-verse).
  • Indiana Pacers: channel 671 (streaming, satellite) and 1749/749 (U-verse).
  • Memphis Grizzlies: channel 649 (streaming and satellite) and 1728/728 (U-verse).
  • Minnesota Timberwolves: channel 668 (streaming and satellite).
  • San Antonio Spurs: channel 680 (streaming and satellite) and 1756/756 (U-verse).

In addition to watching live, DirecTV has confirmed customers who receive access to these teams will also be able to log in to the DAZN platform at no additional cost in the coming weeks.

“Our goal is to bring together more of the live sports that local fans enjoy most, all in one place, with greater choice, flexibility, and control over how they watch and what they pay,” said Rob Thun, chief content officer at DirecTV. “DirecTV has earned its reputation as a sports leader through decades of investment and innovation, and we’re committed to building on that leadership to benefit all sports fans.”

The agreement with DAZN also includes distribution rights for DirecTV for Business’s portfolio of sports bars, restaurants, and other commercial venues in each team’s respective region.

“We’ve built an extensive roster of NBA team media rights in the U.S., and partnerships like this one with DirecTV are one of the ways we get games in front of the widest possible audience,” said Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group. “Local games for the Cavaliers, Grizzlies, Pacers, Spurs, and Timberwolves are now available on DAZN, DirecTV, and at bars and restaurants across each of the teams’ five local markets. We’re excited to make it easier for fans to follow the teams they love.”

The agreement with DAZN follows a separate agreement with the NHL. Announced over the weekend, the NHL agreement ensures DirecTV customers can continue watching the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues.
