Fans of the Fast & Furious franchise will be happy to know that things may not end with Fast Forever. A new series is now confirmed to be coming to Peacock, and if all goes well, it may not be the last entry.
What You Need to Know
- Peacock has confirmed an all‑new Fast & Furious TV series is in development, announced during NBCUniversal’s 2026 Upfront with Vin Diesel on stage.
- The episodic show is expected to feature standalone stories that dive deeper into individual characters, giving fans more of the legacy arcs they’ve been asking for.
- The series is a joint Peacock–Universal project backed by Vin Diesel, Neal Moritz, Chris Morgan, with showrunners Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman on board.
Due for theatrical release on March 17, 2028, Fast Forever was understood to be the final main installment in the Fast & Furious saga.
While that may actually still be the case, depending on the release schedule, it won’t be the only F&F entry to be released in the future.
Peacock has confirmed that an all-new series from the Fast & Furious universe is officially in the works. The confirmation came during the NBCUniversal 2026 Upfront event today, and delivered by non other than Vin Diesel himself.
While firm details on the new series remain unknown at the moment, including the release date and the title, Peacock has hinted that the series will be episodic in nature.
Not only are the episodes expected to feature standalone stories, but it seems they will tap more into the individual backstories of characters.
“For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more,” Vin Diesel said. “They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space that Fallon has mastered. And I had to wait ’till it was right.”
Vin Diesel was introduced to the stage by The Tonight Show‘s Jimmy Fallon, hence the Fallon comment. Either way, that time is apparently now.
“It became right when Donna Langley started to oversee it all, because that’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family would be protected in the TV space,” added Diesel.
Although details on the new series are being kept under wraps for now, Peacock has confirmed the new series will be a joint venture between Peacock and Universal Pictures.
The project will also be overseen by executive producers Vin Diesel and Sam Vincent (of One Race Films), Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty (of Original Film), Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Morgan.
Mike Daniels (Sons of Anarchy, Shades of Blue, Rockford Files) and Wolfe Coleman (Shades of Blue) are also on board as co-showrunners.
