For those that have been experiencing an issue preventing them from signing in to the YouTube app on Fire TV devices, YouTube has now confirmed the issue has been fixed.

Before the fix rolled out, users found they could not log in to the app at all. This not only affected those attempting to sign in to the app for the first time, but also those that were already signed in. Basically, those signed in were being automatically signed out after launching the YouTube app.

Regardless of whether signing in for the first time or an existing user that had been automatically signed out, nothing would happen when clicking on the Sign In button after opening the app.

According to multiple user reports over the past couple of days, restarting the device, clearing the app’s cache and data, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the app didn’t solve the issue.

While YouTube has not explained what originally caused the problem, a fix is confirmed to have now rolled out. For those that are still experiencing the issue, YouTube recommends restarting the device to apply the fix, making it possible to log in to the YouTube app again.
