Apple Delays Release Of ‘The Savant’ On Apple TV+

Apple has opted to delay the release of the new The Savant series on Apple TV+. It currently remains unclear when audiences will now be able to stream the new series starring Jessica Chastain.

The premiere of The Savant was due to become available to stream on Apple TV+ from Friday (Sept. 26). However, and first spotted by 9to5 Mac, Apple recently updated the Apple TV+ page for the series to confirm the delay.

It also now looks like there is currently no firm release date available. The updated Apple TV+ page simply states the series will become available to stream “at a later date.”

According to reports by outlets, including Deadline and Variety, the series has been delayed in light of recent events, including the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

While it remains unclear how similar the storyline might be to any actual real world events, the series is understood to focus on domestic extremists and acts of terrorism in general.

Here’s how Apple describes the series:

“Jessica Chastain stars as a top-secret undercover investigator known as the Savant, who infiltrates online hate groups to take down the most violent extremists in the United States.”

In statements to Deadline and Variety, an Apple spokesperson said the following:

“After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone The Savant.”

In terms of when Apple TV+ subscribers can now expect to stream the series, the statement simply added the following:

“We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.”

In response to the delay, Jessica Chastain issued a statement on social media confirming the series won’t arrive tomorrow as planned, and explaining how she is “not aligned” with the decision to pause the release.

Chastain also added that she hopes the show will become available to audiences soon.
