If you’re not currently subscribed to Apple TV+, you will be able to stream anything from the library for free over this weekend. Apple is unlocking access in celebration of the New Year.
While the new year starts tomorrow, those interested in checking out Apple TV+ for free will need to wait until Friday (Jan. 3, 2025). The Apple TV+ library will then remain available at no cost through Sunday (Jan. 5).
Basically, Apple is letting everyone ring in the New Year with an all-access pass for the first weekend of 2025. The free all-access pass is also available to users globally.
Popular series available to watch on Apple TV+ include Bad Sisters, Dark Matter, Disclaimer, For All Mankind, Foundation, Presumed Innocent, Severance, Shrinking, Silo, Slow Horses, The Morning Show, and Ted Lasso.
Those planning on checking out Apple TV+ will still need access to a device that supports the Apple TV app and Apple TV+. They will also need an Apple ID as well.
While neither of these requirements are likely to be an issue for those with an existing Apple device, such as an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, those not currently invested in the Apple ecosystem will need to check if their devices support Apple TV and sign up for a free Apple ID.
If interested in maintaining access to Apple TV+ after this weekend’s free preview, a subscription currently costs $9.99 a month, following a 7-day free trial.
