What You Need to Know

  • The JoySauce FAST channel is now live on The Roku Channel, giving users access to a wide range of AAPI programming.
  • The addition of JoySauce marks the arrival of the first AAPI channel on the Roku platform.
  • The Roku launch follows earlier rollouts on Amazon Prime Video and Plex.

It’s been a busy year for JoySauce. After initially partnering with Cineverse to make JoySauce content more widely available in the U.S., the two companies confirmed plans to launch a standalone JoySauce streaming service, JoySauce TV.

As part of those same plans, the two companies were working together to launch a new JoySauce FAST channel that would become available through a variety of free platforms and services.

The FAST channel officially went live on Amazon Prime Video in November of last year. Following its debut on Prime Video, and a subsequent launch on Plex in May, the JoySauce Network is also now available on The Roku Channel, opening up access to many more consumers in North America.

According to JoySauce, the arrival of the FAST channel also marks the first time an AAPI channel has been added to Roku’s lineup.

“Launching on Roku is another important step toward making Asian American stories available wherever audiences choose to watch. And while JoySauce has always believed that representation matters, so does being genuinely entertaining and fun for everyone. If we can make audiences both AAPI and non-asian laugh together, think, discover something new, and maybe fill some of their hearts with pride, we’ve done our job. We are also highly grateful for the allyship of our distribution partners Cineverse, in addition to our friends at Roku,” said Jonathan Sposato, Founder and CEO of JoySauce.

With the channel now available, Roku users have access to plenty of AAPI content, including original series, films, comedy, anime, and more, and spanning genres like entertainment, food, travel, lifestyle, culture, relationships, and the arts.
