Roku users now have the option of signing up to Max directly through The Roku Channel. While subscribing through Roku won’t make the subscription any cheaper, it can result in an easier way for existing Roku users to subscribe and manage the subscription.

Roku users interested in checking out what Max has to offer can sign up on their Roku device or through go.roku.com/max and there are two subscriptions tiers to choose from. The cheapest ad-supported plan costs $9.99 a month and the ad-free plan costs $16.99 a month.

In addition to HBO programming and Max Originals, a Max subscription unlocks access to a wide selection of content, including programming from Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Discovery+, The Food Network, HBO, HGTV, ID, Magnolia Network, OWN, TLC and Warner Bros.

For those that prefer not to subscribe through The Roku Channel, Max is available as an app on Roku devices. Unlike with The Roku Channel, subscribing directly through Max unlocks the option to sign up and save with an annual subscription.

In addition, signing up directly through Max also unlocks the option to subscribe to an Ultimate Ad-Free tier. Priced at $20.99, Ultimate Ad-Free tier includes 4K support, the ability to stream on more devices at the same time, and Dolby Atmos support.

Another benefit of signing up directly through Max is the ability to bundle the streaming service with Disney+ and Hulu at a discounted price.

For reference, the availability of Max as a Roku premium subscription is only the latest way the streaming service has expanded its subscription options recently. Last month, for example, Max became available as a Sling TV add-on.
