Football is back and one of the latest features added to the NFL experience on Paramount+ is the ability to pause, fast-forward, rewind, and even restart live games from the beginning.
A good number of NFL games will be available to watch on Paramount+ this season, so it is worth being aware of the feature, and especially as it does need to be manually enabled first.
To activate the feature, Paramount+ users need to be watching the NFL on CBS channel through the app or the website. Once on the channel, they will see an activation prompt (shown above) confirming the availability of the feature and a “Let’s Go” option to enable it.
For reference, the activation prompt is only available on the NFL on CBS channel and isn’t visible on a subscriber’s local CBS station.
After agreeing to enable the feature, the Paramount+ user will see another ‘Success‘ notification confirming the option to pause, fast-forward, rewind and restart live games will be available the next time they start a live game on the channel.
While there typically needs to be a live game or replay playing to access the channel through the paramount+ app, we were able to enable the feature without watching a live game by accessing the channel through the website. As a result, that’s probably the best option for those looking to enable the feature as soon as possible, and before this Sunday’s CBS games.
For those not currently signed up to Paramount+, the service offers two plans, with the cheapest ‘Essential’ tier priced at $7.99 a month. While there are a number of important differences between the two Paramount+ tiers, both provide access to all live games shown on the NFL on CBS channel.
