Peacock now offers the option to add Starz to a Select, Premium, or Premium Plus plan. While this won’t result in a lower monthly price, it can help to reduce the number of subscriptions subscribers need to manage separately.
What You Need to Know
- Peacock subscribers across all tiers can add Starz for $11.99/mo, matching the standalone price.
- The add‑on doesn’t reduce costs but lets users manage both subscriptions in one place.
- As part of the partnership, Starz shows and movies will appear in dedicated Peacock app rails later this year.
Unlike a typical bundle, including the Peacock-Apple TV bundle, Peacock is not offering Starz at a reduced rate. Instead, signing up to Starz through Peacock costs $11.99/mo — the same price as signing up directly through Starz.
Although this means subscribers won’t save any money by adding Starz to their Peacock subscription, it does provide another way to sign up to the streaming service without having to manage the subscription in the Starz app.
“This Starz add-on subscription expands choice for our customers across all three tiers, provides flexibility for subscribers to enhance their experience on Peacock, and allows for deeper engagement with complementary premium content,” said Will Gonzalez, Chief Growth & Data Officer, NBCUniversal Media Group. “We’re pleased to deliver even more value to customers and give them the opportunity to access more of what they want to watch right on our platform.”
Peacock Select, Premium, and Premium Plus subscribers interested in adding Starz do their plan can now do so through the Account section after signing in.
Likewise, new Peacock subscribers can add Starz to their plan as an add-on when signing up.
Both new and existing Peacock subscribers can currently get a seven-day free trial of Starz when adding the streaming service to their Peacock subscription.
Due to the availability of the free trial, and depending on when a subscriber adds Starz to their Peacock subscription, they may find they are billed at different times of the month for the two subscriptions.
“We’re excited to partner with Peacock in bringing Starz as an add-on subscription to the platform for the first time ever,” said Alison Hoffman, President of STARZ Networks. “As a complementary premium service, Starz is built to be distributed in a way that enhances and expands the value of a broader platform. With our compelling slate of hit original series for women and underrepresented audiences, alongside our vast portfolio of premium Pay 1 and library films, Starz helps create a more complete and diverse offering for customers.”
As an extension of this latest partnership between NBCUniversal and Starz, the two companies have confirmed Starz shows and movies will begin being promoted within dedicated rails on the Peacock app later this year.
