Reelz+, the first Reelz direct-to-consumer streaming service, launched today, providing users with a way to stream popular Reelz content without a live TV package. The new streaming service costs $4.99 a month or $49.99 when signing up on an annual basis.
For that monthly price, subscribers get access to the Reelz library, including every episode of On Patrol: Live and On Patrol: First Shift. There is also a wide selection of originals and documentaries available to stream, including Autopsy: The Last Hours of…, Gangsters: America’s Most Evil, Behind Closed Doors, Breaking the Band, Hollywood Hillbillies, Jail, and Murder Made Me Famous.
“Fans can now enjoy On Patrol: Live every Friday and Saturday night, and let their friends who don’t get Reelz know that there is a new way to get us, as it airs on the device of their choice and includes access to our growing library of programming on demand,” said Stan E. Hubbard, Reelz CEO
As this is a new service, device support is a little limited right now. In addition to accessing the service through reelzplus.com, the Reelz+ app is currently only available on Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices. The company has confirmed that support for other platforms will be coming soon.
“In an ever-changing media world, having Reelz and our hit program On Patrol: Live affordably available through our own streaming app to anyone in the US elevates the network to a truly multi-platform experience,” added Stan E. Hubbard.
Although Reelz+ is a great way to access Reelz content without a live TV plan, those that already get Reelz as part of their live TV package can now access the Reelz+ streaming service at no additional cost.
