Sony today launched a new live TV service for the PlayStation 5. As the new Live TV on PS5 experience is a FAST service, all of the available channels and additional content are available to watch for free.

- Sony has introduced a free ad-supported live television service for PlayStation 5 users in the United States.
- Live TV on PS5 includes more than 100 channels and an on-demand library spanning news, sports, movies, and anime.
- Users can access this service by connecting their PlayStation account via the console’s Media tab.
Live TV on PS5 is officially available beginning today on PS5 players in the U.S. Sony also explained the plan is to expand the experience to Canada in the future and potentially to other regions as well.
In total, the new service unlocks access to more than 100 live channels, in addition to a selection of on-demand entertainment. According to Sony, the live TV experience is expected to continue to expand over time, through the addition of more channels and regularly refreshed programming.
For those interested in checking the new experience out, access to the Live TV on PS5 service is available through the Media section of the PS5 console after connecting a PlayStation account.
- Head to the Media tab
- Select the Live TV on PS5 icon.
- Select “Sign In With My PlayStation Account”
Once setup, PS5 users will have access to a selection of channels and on-demand content spanning a variety of genres, including news, sports, movies, TV shows, anime and more.
The library also draws from a variety of studios and sources including, Amazon MGM Studios, Crunchyroll, Fox, NBCUniversal, NFL Channel, and UFC, among others.
Examples of some of the channels now available to stream include MovieSphere by Lionsgate, 50 Cent Action, FilmRise Free Movies, Sony One Horror Hits and Cinevault, as well as the Black Clover and Box Sets anime channels from Crunchyroll.
Likewise, examples of some of the TV shows available to stream include Community, The Shield, Hell’s Kitchen, The Walking Dead, Forensic Files, Unsolved Mysteries, Deal or No Deal USA, Fear Factor, and Ice Road Truckers. In addition to anime classics like Naruto, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, and Death Note.
For sports, PS5 users have access to programming from FOX Sports, NASCAR, NBC Sports Now, UFC, and more, spanning MMA, football, hockey, motorsports, golf, boxing and soccer.
National, local and international news and weather is covered by the likes of NBC News Now, Fox Weather, and LiveNOW from FOX.
Lastly, PS5 users also have access to a variety of creator, esports and specialty content and programming, including Hot Ones, Spotify’s The Ringer, Futcrunch, Idle Mode, and eCLUTCH.
