What You Need to Know
- The Puerto Rican FAST channel, WAPA+, is now free to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
- Prime Video users can now stream WAPA‑TV’s top news, entertainment, and lifestyle shows from Puerto Rico.
- The launch on Prime Video follows recent launches on Sling TV, Sling Freestream, and Dish TV.
Earlier this year, Hemisphere Media Group confirmed WAPA+ was being added to EchoStar’s services, including Sling TV, Sling Freestream, and Dish TV.
Following the launch on those platforms, Hemisphere Media has confirmed that WAPA+ is now also available to stream free on Prime Video.
The channel was added to Prime Video’s free lineup today and provides users with another way to access news, entertainment, and lifestyle programming from Puerto Rico.
“Expanding WAPA+ to Prime Video reflects the continued demand for authentic Puerto Rican programming on streaming platforms,” said Alan J. Sokol, President and CEO of Hemisphere Media Group. “WAPA+ is the first FAST channel created to serve Puerto Ricans living in the U.S. mainland with the news, entertainment, and cultural connection they value most from Puerto Rico’s #1 rated TV network. This expansion continues to deepen that connection while extending the reach of our content.”
With the FAST channel now available, Prime Video users can expect access to a variety of programming from Puerto Rico’s #1 broadcast network, WAPA-TV.
This includes news from NotiCentro América, reality shows like Super Chef Celebrities and ¡Claro que Baila!, as well as sports, movies, and original productions from WAPA Media.
In addition to Sling TV, Sling Freestream, and Prime Video, WAPA+ is also available to stream through a variety of other free services and platforms, including Plex, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, and Xumo Play.
