Peacock ended the second calendar quarter of 2026 with 48 million paid subscribers, an increase on the previous quarter and year. However, the most recent quarter will be remembered for a more notable reason.
What You Need to Know
- Peacock closed Q2 2026 with 48 million paid subscribers, an increase of 2 million on the previous quarter.
- The new additions were driven by a mix of entertainment and live sports, including the World Cup.
- The second quarter also marked the service reaching profitability for the first time.
Considering Peacock ended the first quarter of the year with 46 million paid subscribers, the streaming service managed to add two million between April and June.
According to Comcast, the quarterly increase in subscribers was primarily driven by Love Island USA, as well as sports events like the NBA playoffs and the FIFA World Cup.
While Fox was the main streaming home of the World Cup in the U.S., Peacock provided subscribers with access to Spanish-language broadcasts of every game during the tournament.
On a year over year basis, the increase was a lot more substantial. Following the closure of the second quarter of 2025 with 41 million paid subscribers, Peacock managed to add around 7 million during the past year.
The 7 million additions were slightly less than the 8 million paid subscribers Peacock added between Q2 2024 and Q2 2025.
While healthy increases, the second quarter is more notable for Peacock for a different reason. Following Q1, when the service’s revenue surpassed $2 billion for the first time, Q2 2026 marked the first time that the streaming service reached profitability.
Comcast reported an EBITDA of $189 million for the streaming service in the second quarter.
