YouTube Premium subscribers in the U.S. will soon get access to Peacock Premium as part of a bundled subscription. The bundling of services was announced today as part of an expanded agreement between YouTube and NBCUniversal.
What You Need to Know
- YouTube Premium in the U.S. will soon include access to Peacock Premium’s ad‑supported tier.
- YouTube has yet to confirm exactly when Peacock Premium will be added or whether pricing will change.
- The expanded partnership is also set to bring select NBCUniversal live sports to the NBC Sports YouTube channel.
YouTube Premium currently costs $15.99/mo in the U.S. for an individual account, with options to subscribe to a Family or Student subscription instead.
For the monthly price, YouTube Premium subscribers get ad-free access to YouTube and YouTube Music, as well as the ability to watch videos offline and/or in the background.
Beginning in early 2027, access to Peacock Premium will also be included as a YouTube Premium bundle benefit.
Once available, eligible YouTube Premium subscribers will get access to the standard (ad-supported) version of Peacock Premium, unlocking access to select live sports, movies, TV shows, and much more.
However, it currently remains unclear whether there will be any form of a price increasing coming as a result of the bundling of services.
YouTube did confirm that it will be possible for members to upgrade their Peacock membership. Presumably, this means the ability to pay more to gain access to the ad-free Premium Plus plan.
Late last month, Peacock Premium Plus became available as a YouTube Primetime Channel, allowing users of the platform to sign up and subscribe to the ad-supported Peacock Premium plan directly through YouTube.
The announcement confirmed the ad-supported Peacock Premium plan (currently priced at $10.99/mo) will join Premium Plus as a standalone subscription option through YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer.
As part of the same expanded agreement, YouTube also confirmed that a selection of live sporting events from NBCUniversal will become available to stream on the NBC Sports YouTube channel.
