Fubo has now added the ESPN 4K and ESPN2 4K channels to its main English-language live TV packages. The new ESPN upgrades provide live TV subscribers with the ability to consume sports content in a much improved resolution.
What You Need to Know
- Fubo has now integrated both ESPN 4K and ESPN2 4K directly into its existing channel lineups.
- Pro and Elite subscribers can now stream live sports and programming in the higher resolution.
- Both 4K channels have been made available to Pro and Elite subscribers at no additional cost.
The new ESPN 4K and ESPN2 4K channels are now available to those signed up to Fubo’s Pro and Elite plans. In spite of the improved resolution, both channels have been added at no additional cost to subscribers.
The rolling out of the channels provides sports fans with an elevated picture quality when watching a variety of sports programming, including Monday Night Football , NBA and NHL games, college football, US Open Tennis, and marquee live events like the Super Bowl.
Pro and Elite subscribers can now expect to find the new versions of the ESPN and ESPN 2 channels in the live guide, with 4K HDR badging used on living room devices to denote the upgraded viewing experience.
The availability on Fubo follows last month’s announcement by ESPN that it was now in the process of rolling out 4K HDR versions of both channels in the U.S.
While the ESPN app on iOS and tvOS were the first to gain support, ESPN confirmed support would be coming to more platforms and services, including other connected TV platforms, Disney+ (for ESPN Unlimited subscribers), and traditional and digital pay-TV providers.
Considering The Walt Disney Company holds a majority stake in the combined Hulu Live TV / Fubo joint venture, it should not come as too much of a surprise that Fubo has become one of the first digital pay-TV providers to gain the ability to deliver the ESPN and ESPN2 networks in 4K HDR.
