Apple has now provided additional information on its upcoming Major League Soccer subscription service, including the price and when the new soccer streaming pass will become available. Apple previously confirmed that it was set to become the new streaming home for MLS, but had left some of the more granular details out.

For example, the original announcement confirmed that Apple had agreed a deal to become the “exclusive destination” for Major League Soccer from 2023 through until 2032. While the previous announcement stated the deal would begin in early 2023, there was no firm date given. That’s now changed with Apple having confirmed that its MLS Season Pass will launch in the United States on February 1, 2023, a few weeks before the MLS 2023 regular season kicks off on February 25.

The price of the soccer-focused subscription service has also now been revealed. Starting from February 1, the MLS Season Pass will be available to purchase through the Apple TV app for $14.99 per month. In addition, an annual plan, priced at $99 per season, will also be available at the same time. According to Apple, any fans signed up to a full-season ticket package with an MLS club will get access to MLS Season Pass at no additional cost.

If already signed up to Apple TV Plus then it will be possible to save around 20 percent on the cost of the MLS Season Pass. For example, Apple TV+ subscribers will be able to sign up on a monthly basis for $12.99 per month, or on an annual basis for $79 per season. Apple TV Plus subscribers that opt to skip the season pass will still get access to select MLS and Leagues Cup matches for free. In fact, some games will be available to watch for free on the Apple TV app regardless of an Apple TV Plus subscription.

For those that missed the news the first time around, the MLS Season Pass is going to be a one-stop solution for MLS. The subscription service will be available in more than 100 countries and unlock access to every live regular-season match with no blackouts. This is in addition to the playoffs and even the Leagues Cup, which sees MLS clubs face off against Liga MX clubs.

Similar to Apple TV Plus in general, the MLS Season Pass will only be accessible through the Apple TV app. While this will make a supported smart TV or streaming player necessary to watch live games, it still will be possible to catch Major League Soccer matches through the Apple TV website on most devices.
