After starting with original programming collaborations in 2018, Apple has been home to the Peanuts classic library since 2020. The new deal adds another five years on top of the existing deal, extended the rights agreement up until 2030.

The new deal not only includes the classic Peanuts library, but it also adds plans for more new original Peanuts series and specials. This is all in addition to a brand-new animated feature film starring Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, that’s currently in production.

β€œOur commitment, dedication and passion for Peanuts runs deep. These beloved characters and stories hold a timeless significance, resonating with people of all ages across the globe,” said Tara Sorensen, head of children’s programming, Apple TV+.

Similar to last year, Apple will be making a number of free streaming windows available over the coming months providing those without an active Apple TV+ subscription the opportunity to stream iconic Peanuts holiday specials for free.

While Apple TV+ subscribers can stream these titles throughout year, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will be available to stream for free on October 18 and 19, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will be available to stream for free on November 15 and 16, and A Charlie Brown Christmas will be available to stream for free on December 13 and 14.

And we are delighted that the iconic holiday specials will be available for everyone to experience, continuing this time-honored, comforting tradition,” added Sorensen.
