What You Need to Know

  • Many major services offer military‑exclusive savings, ranging from 25% off to a full free year.
  • Most platforms require eligibility checks through Exchange, GovX, ID.me, or SheerID, adding some extra steps during signup.
  • Some deals only last for a short period of time so it is worth tracking end dates to avoid unexpected price increases.

A quick note about the military discounts below. Streaming services that offer a discount typically require the new subscriber to confirm their eligibility (military status).

This verification process is normally completed while signing up but does tend to require additional steps, and often registration through the likes of Exchange, GovX, or ID.me.

Save 25% on Disney+

Disney+ offers a 25% discount for military members and veterans. The discount is specifically on the cost of the annual plan, saving subscribers around $47.50 each year.

Eligible U.S. service members, veterans, and their families can sign up for Disney+ Premium at the discounted rate through Exchange.

Be Aware of When Military Promotions End

As is nearly always the case with streaming deals, being aware of when the discounted period is due to end can help to avoid unexpected costs down the road.

While some services may offer the option to renew the discount, by re-verifying military status each year, others will simply convert to a normal subscription at the end of the discounted period, resulting in a higher monthly or annual cost.

If a specific streaming service doesn’t offer the option to renew the exclusive discount for another year, then the subscriber will need to manually cancel their subscription to avoid it automatically converting to a subscription billed at the higher, non-military price.
