What You Need to Know

  • Cineverse saw a small quarterly dip in SVOD subscribers but solid year‑over‑year growth, along with major increases in viewers and minutes streamed.
  • Q4 revenue rose sharply, largely driven by advertising gains tied to the IndiCue and Giant Worldwide acquisitions.
  • The company says these acquisitions accelerate its evolution into an AI‑focused, fully integrated entertainment and technology business.

Considering Cineverse closed out the previous quarter with 1.55 million SVOD subscribers, the 1.52 million reported for the most recent quarter marks a slight quarter-over-quarter decline.

On an annual basis, however, the company reported a 13% increase in total SVOD subscribers.

Cineverse also confirmed streaming viewers increased 66% to 129.6 million, and total minutes streamed increased 58% to 4.4 billion, compared to Q4 FY 2025.

While these totals refer to the entire Cineverse ecosystem, the company provided some specifics on Screambox, confirming the horror streaming service saw an 18% year-over-year increase in subscribers.

In terms of revenue, Cineverse reported $26 million in Q4 FY 2026, an increase of $10.4 million on the $15.6 million reported for Q4 FY 2025.

According to the company, the growth in revenue was primarily driven by $11.6 million in advertising technology and media services revenue.

In particular, the company credited the acquisitions of IndiCue and Giant Worldwide as fueling the increase, with Cineverse stating these are “transformative acquisitions” and ones which now “complete Cineverse’s evolution into an AI-driven, fully integrated entertainment technology company and studio.”

The positive financial impact of this has been immediate, with the Acquisitions contributing $11.6 million of revenue in their first partial quarter and driving 67% total revenue growth. We fully expect the financial contribution from the Acquisitions to be even more significant in our next reported quarter based on strong preliminary results recorded to date,” said Chris McGurk, Cineverse Chairman and CEO.

Cineverse also reported $65.7 million in revenue for the full year (FY 2026). This was down on the $78.2 million reported for FY 2025, with the 16% decrease primarily attributed to the prior-year’s theatrical and ancillary revenues generated by Terrifier 3.

We feel that Fiscal 2026 was one of the most consequential years in Cineverse’s history. Following the unprecedented success of Terrifier 3, the biggest unrated film release in history, we moved quickly and decisively to convert that momentum into a structurally stronger and even higher growth company — completing the acquisitions of Giant Worldwide and IndiCue in a single quarter. These deals fundamentally change what Cineverse is as a company. We are now a technology-first, AI-driven, fully integrated entertainment company with three powerful and mutually reinforcing engines — a proven, low-risk, high potential return wide release film slate strategy; a scaled streaming and podcast portfolio; and now a vertically integrated advertising technology and media services business built around our Matchpoint platform.” McGurk said.
