Crunchyroll is now available through Amazon’s Prime Video Channels service in the U.S, offering homes another way to sign up to the popular anime streaming service.

While it is possible to sign up to streaming services directly, Amazon’s Prime Video Channels provides consumers with the option of subscribing and accessing various streaming services directly within the Prime Video app.

The latest option to be added as a Prime Video Channel is Crunchyroll. As of now, Crunchyroll is only available through Prime Video Channels in the United States. However, the anime subscription service is also due to become available through Prime Video Channels in Canada, Sweden and the UK from next week, and there are plans to add support for additional territories throughout 2024 as well.

Crunchyroll offers an anime adventure for every kind of fan. From sports to romantic comedy, horror and action to slice-of-life, even the anime-curious can get immersed in our library,” said Terry Li, EVP of emerging business, Crunchyroll. “We look forward to welcoming new fans into the anime community through our launch on Prime Video Channels.”

In terms of the price, Prime Video users can sign up to one of two Crunchyroll plans. The first is the Fan tier which costs $7.99 a month and unlocks full access to the Crunchyroll library. The second subscription option is Mega Fan. This tier costs $9.99 a month and adds the ability to download videos to watch on the go.

Regardless of whether you sign up to the Fan or Mega Fan plan through Prime Video Channels, a 7-day free trial is available.

For reference, if signing up to Crunchyroll directly, there is also a third subscription option to choose from. The Ultimate Fan tier costs $14.99 a month and adds the option to get $25 off $100+ purchase in the Crunchyroll Store every 3 months, free shipping on all orders from the Crunchyroll Store, and an exclusive swag bag after 12 consecutive months of subscription.

Those signing up directly through the Crunchyroll website can also take advantage of a longer 14-day free trial.

Of course, the benefit of signing up through Prime Video Channels for existing Prime members is the ease of managing a subscription through their existing Amazon account. Not to mention, the lack of the need to download an additional app on their smart TV or streaming player.

For those that would prefer to avoid paying for an additional subscription entirely, it is worth noting that Crunchyroll also recently is launched a dedicated 24/7 FAST channel, offering the option to tune in and watch select anime programming for free.
