DirecTV has now added two new channels to its MyEntertainment Genre Pack. The latest additions are Heroes & Icons and MeTV, and both are available to MyEntertainment subscribers beginning today.
These are not new channels to DirecTV in general, as both networks are already available to those signed up to the live TV service’s main live TV packages. Instead, the channels are also now available though the company’s standalone Genre Pack.
The addition of Heroes & Icons and MeTV to MyEntertainment is part of an expanded distribution agreement with Weigel Broadcasting Co., which also saw the MeTV Toons network added to Choice and higher packages earlier this week, as well as the newly-launched MyKids Genre Pack.
Heroes & Icons and MeTV also arrive soon after an expanded deal with Paramount Global which resulted in BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, Paramount Network, POP, TV Land, and VH1 being added to the MyEntertainment Genre Pack.
As a reminder, MyEntertainment costs $34.99 a month and provides access to more than 50 entertainment channels. MyEntertainment subscribers also get access to Disney+, Hulu and Max at no additional cost.
It is not just the MyEntertainment lineup that’s expanded recently, as the $69.99/month MySports Genre Pack also gained CBS Sports Network and a number of CBS-owned and operated stations last month.
The $39.99/month MyNews Genre Pack also gained CBS-owned and operated stations recently, while Tr3s was recently added to the $34.99/month MiEspaƱol Genre Pack.
