DirecTV‘s new MySports package is now available across the U.S., offering more homes the option to sign up to a plan focused on live sports. In spite of only launching in January, DirecTV has wasted no time in expanding the availability of the service.
At launch, MySports was only available to those living in 24 metro areas in the United States. By the end of January, DirecTV confirmed that availability of the service had expanded, unlocking access in 122 markets.
Now, following today’s announcement, the live TV plan is available nationwide. Similar to the previous expansion announcement, DirecTV has also now added more Fox affiliates. In fact, MySports now offers Fox in all 187 markets where DirecTV currently carries the network.
The addition of the extra Fox affiliates comes just in time for this year’s Super Bowl – the big game is due to be shown live on Fox. Other programming subscribers can expect access to over the coming weeks include NBA All-Star Weekend (Feb. 14-16), and the NHL’s new 4 Nations Face-Off midseason international hockey tournament (Feb. 12-20).
As a reminder of what’s on offer here, the MySports package costs $69.99 a month and provides access to more than 40 national sports networks and local broadcast stations, including ACC Network, Big Ten Network, ESPN, Fox Sports, MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, NHL Network, TBS, and TNT.
As part of the launch of the new plan, DirecTV has discounted the cost down to $49.99 a month for the first three months, resulting in a total saving of $60 over all three months. New subscribers have another few weeks (up until Feb. 27) to sign up and lock in the discounted launch price.
