Fubo has confirmed it is developing its own AI assistant. Due to launch later this year, the AI assistant is designed to make it easier for users to find and watch programming.
What You Need to Know
- Fubo is launching an AI assistant this fall, initially helping users find DVR’d sports content through natural conversations.
- The assistant will expand beyond sports, with plans to support news and entertainment discovery.
- At launch, the assistant will initially only be available on select platforms and devices.
Fubo plans to launch a new AI Assistant in the fall on select platforms. While details on the AI assistant are still very limited, Fubo has confirmed it will be able to assist customers in searching their DVR’d content for programming, beginning with sports.
While Fubo already offers a feature to search its platform, the company plans to upgrade that experience through the use of casual conversations.
Presumably, this will mean customers can be more vague or specific in terms of their search words/phrases, and more quickly find the content they were looking for.
Again, presumably, an example of this would mean unlocking the ability to ask the AI assistant to find that playoff game last year which was decided by a last-minute kick or last-second basket.
Although initially positioned as a sports-focused AI tool, Fubo has confirmed the grander plan is to unlock the same AI-powered functionality for other content, including news and entertainment programming.
When the AI assistant does go live in the fall, it will only be accessible on select devices. Specifically, Apple TV, Roku, and mobile devices at launch.
This is only Fubo’s latest attempt to improve the user experience through the use of artificial intelligence.
For example, Fubo already offers Instant Headlines, which utilizes AI to offer users real-time news headlines and personalized game alerts.
More recently, Fubo launched AI-Driven Vertical Mode, which leverages AI models to ensure the app automatically zooms in on critical areas of a video to provide an optimized portrait-mode viewing experience.
