It is now possible to subscribe to select premium subscription services through Fubo without having to be signed up to one of Fubo’s live TV packages.
Specifically, Fubo is now offering access to Paramount+ with Showtime, FanDuel Sports Network (formerly Bally Sports) and NBA League Pass without the need for a live TV plan. These are only the first services, as Fubo has confirmed more standalone subscriptions will become available in the future.
While these premium subscriptions don’t require Fubo, and won’t necessarily be any cheaper through Fubo, they do offer consumers another way to pay for and manage the subscriptions.
The opening up of premium subscriptions is part of a much wider move by Fubo to become a super aggregator of content. Earlier this year, for example, Fubo also began offering access to its selection of FAST channels without the need for a paid live TV package.
While the FAST side of Fubo is currently only available to existing and past live TV subscribers, Fubo has confirmed those signing up to a standalone service will also get access to the Fubo Free collection of FAST channels.
With premium subscriptions also now becoming available without a live TV package, Fubo offers access to a wide selection of content to both paid and free users.
“Consumers want flexible streaming options that lets them subscribe to only the content they want to watch,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO, Fubo. “Our vision to be a Super Aggregator aims to give consumers a seamless way to access all of the content they love within the Fubo ecosystem and at appropriate price points. With the addition of standalone live and SVOD premium subscriptions, we believe offering multiple bundles, from skinny to fat, will put choice in the hands of our customers. This is what streaming should be.”
