fuboTV Loses CBS Affiliates In Many Areas – Check If You’re Affected

fuboTV subscribers in various locations across the United States have now lost access to their local CBS affiliate. However, and as previously reported would happen, fuboTV is providing those affected by the lost local channels with access to the national CBS feed instead.

Over the weekend, it became clear that an issue had arisen with the availability of local CBS stations through fuboTV. Essentially, Paramount Global had agreed a deal with fuboTV on behalf of all of the affiliates but some of the local stations had opted out of the deal. While the main deadline to opt in was on Friday, Monday at 5pm ET was the cutoff deadline.

With that having now passed, a number of CBS affiliates are no longer available through fuboTV. Existing subscribers should already be able to check if they are impacted by the change by checking their live guide to see if their local CBS channel is listed. If not, then they are in an affected area and should have access to the national feed instead.

Even if the local channel is still showing as available, subscribers may find they are unable to access it. This is “due to technical limitations”, according to fuboTV, with the programming guide error expected to be fixed in due course.

Alternatively, this fuboTV help page makes it possible for subscribers to input their location to see if they are affected by the change.

While the national feed does still make it possible to watch a lot of the same content that would be shown on a local affiliate, affected subscribers will obviously miss out on local content, including any live sports or local newscasts that are not also being shown on the national channel at the same time.

Furthermore, subscribers should expect the national feed they receive to be dependent on the coast. For example, those on the East Coast will get access to the East feed while those on the West Coast will get access to the West version.
