A new Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network is coming soon and set to become the free TV home of the New Orleans Pelicans. In partnership with Gray Media, the new sports network will broadcast every non-national Pelicans NBA game for free over the air.
Anchored by Gray’s New Orleans television station WVUE (FOX 8), the new network will be available in time for the New Orleans Pelicans game against the the Chicago Bulls on October 23, 2024.
In addition to launching as free, over the air network, Gray Media confirmed Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network will be accessible with pay-TV services through Gray’s television stations in the following areas:
- Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lake Charles, Monroe, and Alexandria in Louisiana
- Biloxi, Jackson, Hattiesburg, and Meridian in Mississippi
- Mobile, Alabama
“This partnership with Gray Media represents our commitment to our fans, community, and partners across Louisiana and the Gulf South,” said Pelicans Governor Gayle Benson. “Our focus has been to make Pelicans games accessible to as many fans as possible, and this deal means that Pelicans games will now be available to millions of more fans with this free, over-the-air broadcast product.”
The confirmation of the launch of Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network follows similar announcements for Palmetto Sports & Entertainment and Rock Entertainment Sports Network.
Also developed in partnership with Gray, Palmetto Sports & Entertainment caters to sports fans in South Carolina while Rock Entertainment Sports Network caters to sports fans in Cleveland.
