While Max might be in the process of reverting back to HBO Max, the streaming service is forging on with its global expansion. The next expansion stage takes place in July, when the direct-to-consumer streaming service will go live in another twelve markets.

The new markets where HBO Max will go live next month include Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, and Tajikistan.

Once live in these markets, consumers will have the option of signing up to one of two tiers – Standard and Premium. While both offer access to the service’s library, Premium adds 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos support and increases the number of simultaneous streams.

In return for the subscription fee, consumers will gain access to a wide library of entertainment content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, and Max Originals, including 90 Day Fiancé, A Minecraft Movie, The Big Bang Theory, Friends, the Harry Potter collection, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, The Pitt and Peacemaker.

This is also in addition to a variety of sports events throughout the year, including tennis Grand Slams, cycling Grand Tours, and major winter sports events.

Following July’s expansion, Warner Bros. Discovery has already confirmed that HBO Max will be coming to more markets in 2025 and in 2026.

Our continued global expansion of HBO Max is helping fuel the great momentum we continue to see for the service. These 12 countries will be followed by a few additional markets later this year, and launches in Germany , Italy and the UK early next year,” said JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery.

Warner Bros. Discovery ended the first quarter of 2025 with a total of 122.3 million streaming subscribers, a number that includes those signed up to HBO Max.
