The latest version of the Philo app includes a fix for a crashing issue which seems to be affecting some users, and on different platforms. While it remains unclear how widespread the issue is, any Philo users experiencing a crashing issue may want to update the app to the latest version to see if that fixes the problem.
Specifically, there are reports of the crashing issue affecting Fire TV and Roku users. According to those reports, the app becomes non-responsive either on the splash screen or while on the Home screen and trying to play content. Both of these platform apps are confirmed to be part of yesterday’s round of updates.
According to Apple’s App Store, the iOS and Apple TV apps were also updated yesterday as well. Whether this also means that Apple TV users were experiencing the same issue remains unclear, but it is a possibility.
The Android TV / Google TV app hasn’t been updated since last week, according to the Google Play Store. As a result, it remains unclear whether this platform app can now expect its own update, or whether Android TV / Google TV users haven’t been experiencing the same problem.
Regardless of the platform, checking if an app update is available and applying the update might prove to be the solution for any Philo subscribers currently experiencing an app failure issue.
