The Max streaming service will go live in Australia next month. Once the streaming service arrives, consumers will have another way to access a large library of content, including popular titles from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, and DC Studios.
Warner Bros. Discovery announced the latest expansion on Tuesday, confirming the direct-to-consumer streaming service will be available in Australia on Monday, March 31. Subscribing to Max will be available via www.max.com and app stores, including Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store
Although the availability of the service is now confirmed, Warner Bros. Discovery has yet to confirm how much a subscription will cost. Instead, the company explained that multiple subscription tiers will be available, including a premium, standard, and ad-supported tier.
Firm details on these tiers, including pricing, is expected to be announced in the weeks prior to launch.
Elsewhere in the world, Max is available on a variety of platforms and devices, and that is also due to be the case when the service launches in Australia. Along with all the usual mobile, streaming player, and TV support, consumers in Australia will also have the option of accessing the service on supported Hubbl devices.
Notably, Foxtel subscribers will not only have access to the service on their devices, but they also won’t have to pay for Max either. Thanks to a launch partnership, Foxtel subscribers (with a compatible Foxtel IQ box) will receive access to the ‘Basic with Ads’ tier at no additional cost.
