After confirming more than 300 million subscribers, Netflix is now raising the price of some of its plans in select countries, including the United States. In fact, all of Netflix’s plans in the U.S. are now increasing in price, including the cheapest ‘Standard with ads’ plan.

Following the latest price increase, the cost of the ‘Standard with ads’ plan will increase by $1 a month to $7.99. This marks the first time that its cheapest plan has increased in price since its launch in late 2022.

Along with the ‘Standard with ads’ plan, the ‘Standard’ plan is also increasing to $17.99 a month, up $1.50 on the previous $15.49 month cost.

Those signed up to Netflix’s ‘Premium’ plan are not escaping this round of price increases either. In spite of Netflix’s most expensive tier increasing in price in October 2023, the ‘Premium’ plan is increasing by another $2 a month. This increase takes the cost of the ‘Premium’ plan up to $24.99 a month in the United States.

As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix,” the company said.

In addition to the U.S., Netflix confirmed that the cost of select plans are also increasing in Canada, Portugal and Argentina, as part of the same round of price increases.
