Tubi might not show quite as many ads as other streaming services, but it is still completely reliant on ads, and heavily investing in the ad experience. In fact, a bunch of new as formats are on their way to the streaming service.
Announced during IAB NewFronts 2025, Tubi confirmed that its new ad formats are designed to better connect marketers with engaged audiences. These new ad types include, Tubi Wrappers, Carousels, Animated Pause Ads, Tubi Moments, Tubi Storefronts and Tubi Prime.
Arguable one of the most interesting is Tubi Moments. According to Tubi, this ad format will attempt to match the tone, sentiment and visual cues of an ad to the scene it is deployed during. All of which will look to ensure the ad is as relevant to the content as possible.
Here’s how Tubi describes each of these new formats.
Tubi Wrappers: Advertisers can take over Tubi’s homepage to promote upcoming theatrical releases with animated backgrounds, auto-play trailers, high visibility branded UI elements and a call to action.
Carousel Ads: Enable brands to create immersive virtual showrooms or product showcases on the valuable Tubi homepage, featuring tiles with a custom video, multiple images, and a CTA or QR Code. Viewers can scroll through the tiles to view brand imagery, product details and specific calls to action.
Animated Pause Ads: Feature a sound-off, looping video background to give advertisers more creative possibilities.
Tubi Moments: Tubi is enhancing its vast content library by tagging scenes to capture the tone, sentiment and visual cues, enabling brands’ ad creative to appear in the most relevant content moments during a viewer’s
Tubi Storefronts: Commerce-centric advertisers can start up a Tubi Storefront within the Tubi Shop in minutes.
Tubi Prime: Provides advertisers with guaranteed ad placements within our most popular, brand safe content on Tubi. Through Upfront deals, advertisers can select from content lineups like Tubi Top 50 and Popular with Gen Z and guarantee placements throughout the year, bringing brands closer to conversations around pop culture.
Along with these new ad formats, Tubi also confirmed new and expanded ad tech and measurement partnerships with Amazon Demand Side Platform, Moloco, and Kochava for Publishers.
