New subscribers can save 50% on the cost of a Paramount Plus annual plan during December 2022. A Paramount Plus subscription includes movies and shows from a number of networks, and also unlocks access to some live sports as well. All of which can make it a good addition to a home’s streaming setup.
The current cost of Paramount Plus is $4.99 per month with ads, or $9.99 per month for access to local CBS stations and an ad-free viewing experience. Paramount Plus does also offer annual plans which help to further lower the cost over 12 months. If signing up to the ad-supported Essential plan, the cost of the annual subscription is $49.99. If opting for the ad-free Premium plan, the cost of the annual plan is $99.99.
For the rest of December, however, new users can sign up for an annual plan at half the usual cost. This brings the price of Essential down to just $24.99 and Premium down to just $49.99 for the first year. The Paramount Plus website is already advertising this deal so consumers shouldn’t need to do anything other than sign up for an annual plan to lock in the discounted price.
If the price does not change before checking out, the WINTER50 promo code can be used to manually take 50% off the cost of either plan. This promotion is due to remain available throughout December and up until January 3rd, 2023.
It is worth noting that it is also possible to bundle Paramount Plus and Showtime subscriptions together, and that the promo code also works on the combined plan as well. For example, Paramount Plus Essential with Showtime normally costs $119.99, but drops down to $59.99 for the first year, matching a recent Black Friday deal. Likewise, the Paramount Plus Premium with Showtime bundle normally costs $149.99, but drops down to $74.99 for the first year when the discount is applied.
In particular, the Premium Plus Premium + Showtime plan at $74.99 for the first year offers pretty good value overall. Basically, this unlocks ad-free access to all of Paramount Plus, Showtime, and also a subscriber’s local CBS station for an average monthly cost of around $6.25.
No matter which plan a household ultimately signs up to, it is important to keep in mind that the WINTER50 promo code does only apply to the first year of the subscription. After which, the subscriber will automatically be charged the usual higher rate, unless the Paramount Plus plan is canceled before the renewal date.
