Paramount Plus has now permanently lowered the cost of its Premium with Showtime bundle to $11.99 per month. While the move will result in a cheaper price for those already signed up to the bundle, it is paving the way for an increase in price for those only interested in a Paramount Plus subscription.

Paramount Plus starts at $4.99 per month for the ad-supported plan. For those that want more of an ad-free viewing experience, there’s the option to upgrade to the $9.99 per month Premium plan. Earlier today, Paramount Global confirmed that the Premium plan would see a price increase later this year, taking the cost up to $11.99 per month and adding Showtime content in the process.

Following that announcement, the cost of the Premium with Showtime bundle has now been permanently reduced to $11.99 per month. The change not only affects existing subscribers but also those signing up through the Paramount Plus website. At the new rate, the bundled Premium and Showtime plan is now $3 per month cheaper than before.

Along with slashing the monthly cost, the price of the Premium with Showtime annual plan has also dropped as well. Down from $149.99 to $119.99 per year, the annual plan is now $30 cheaper than it was before.

What is interesting, however, is that the price of the Essential with Showtime bundle has not changed at all. This has resulted in both the ad-supported and ad-free Paramount Plus bundles costing exactly the same. The identical pricing is in effect for both the monthly and annual plans.

Whether or not this will change in the future remains to be seen. At present, however, there’s no incentive to sign up for the Essential with Showtime plan.

Paramount Global had already confirmed that, along with the Premium price increase, the cost of the Essential plan would also increase as well. The price of the ad-supported plan will increase by $1, taking the total up to $5.99 per month. Unlike the Premium plan, the Essential plan is not expected to benefit from the Showtime integration later this year.
