Roku Express 4K+

Roku’s latest affordable streaming player is the Roku Express 4K+. Priced at just $39.99, it offers a number of upgrades over the standard Roku Express. Along with the Express 4K+, Roku also announced a new Roku Voice Remote Pro and a Roku Streambar Pro as well.

Roku is a popular option for consumers and partly thanks to the variety of devices on offer. Regardless of the consumer’s needs and budget, there is a Roku player designed for them. With the latest trio of devices, the choice gets better with performance upgrades at the budget, mid, and premium levels.

The new Express 4K+ is designed to be Roku’s do-it-all streaming player at an affordable price. At $40, it improves on the Roku Express through the addition of 4K, a voice remote, better performance, and more. For $10 more than the Express, the Express+ is going to be a better buy and seems designed to replace the similarly-priced Roku Premiere.

As well as announcing the Roku Express 4K+, Roku confirmed its latest affordable streaming solution is due to go on sale starting from May 16, 2021. In the meantime, Roku is now allowing interested consumers to pre-order the new device. The company also plans to release a $35 non-plus Express 4K player in the coming weeks as a Walmart exclusive in the U.S.

Voice Remote Pro and Streambar Pro

In addition to the Roku Express 4K, Roku also announced two other devices. The Voice Remote Pro costs $29.99 and is a remote with a rechargeable battery – a first for the company. Otherwise, the device also includes hands-free voice command support, as well as the option to connect headphones to the remote, a lost remote finder, and more. This is simply an option for those looking to upgrade their existing remote.

As for the Roku Streamer Pro, this is the next-generation version of the Roku Smart Soundbar. Priced at $179.99, it features a voice remote, private listening experience and support for Virtual Surround. However, the Virtual Surround is not exclusive to the new Streambar Pro, with the feature also rolling out to the Roku Smart Soundbar via a Roku OS 10 update.

The Roku Streamer Pro is due to become available directly from Roku towards the end of May and through major retailers in June. In contrast, the Roku Voice Remote Pro is already available to buy via the company’s website and is expected to become more widely available at the retailer level in May.
