Roku free holiday movies

Roku is making available a number of movies and TV shows for free during the holiday period. To watch any of the free movies or TV shows, users will need access to The Roku Channel. The Roku Channel is the company’s own streaming service that mixes paid and free content together in one easy to access location.

Roku launched The Roku Channel in 2017 and it has proven to be a good additional option for many streamers. While the service was limited at first, Roku has continuously added content over time. While some of it is content that you have to pay additionally for, the service has also expanded its free content. The latest example of the latter came through today when Roku announced its second annual “stream-a-thon.”

Roku’s stream-a-thon is a limited time promotion that lets streamers access a selection of content for free. This year’s thon starts on December 26 and runs through until January 1, 2020. During this time, streamers will be able to access select shows and in some cases, entire seasons offered by popular and premium networks. Some of the networks taking part in this year’s festivities include HBO, Cinemax, Starz, and Showtime.

How to access The Roku Channel

If you are new to The Roku Channel, then don’t worry. This is a fairly easy service to get up and running with. Previously, The Roku Channel was only available to those who owned a Roku player or Roku TV. However, the company has since expanded the service to other platforms.

The Roku Channel can now be accessed through a variety of platform apps including Android and iOS. The Roku Channel can also be directly accessed via a web browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

Of course, if you own a Roku device already then you should already have The Roku Channel setup. If not, it can be added as a “channel” through the Roku store.
