Beginning with the new season, Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will be able to stream select college football games at no additional cost. While this marks the arrival of live regular-season games on Disney’s streaming service, subscribers won’t get access to every matchup during the season.

What You Need to Know

  • U.S. Disney+ subscribers can now stream select live college football games and pregame coverage at no extra cost.
  • The game schedule features two simulcast games per week rather than the full season lineup.
  • As Disney+ won’t offer all matchups, subscribers still need ESPN and ABC for full access.

The games are being made available on Disney+ as part of an ESPN expansion. Each week throughout the season, Disney+ subscribers will get access to simulcasts of two ESPN/ABC college football games.

Not all matchups have been confirmed yet, but the first game Disney+ subscribers will be able to stream at no additional cost is the Aer Lingus College Football Classic between North Carolina and TCU on Aug. 29 at noon ET.

ESPN and Disney have also confirmed the following games will be available to stream on Disney+ in September.

WHENMatchupTIME (ET)
Sept. 5Oregon State at Houston12:00
Sept. 5Baylor vs. Auburn15:30
Sept. 12Oregon at Oklahoma State12:00
Sept. 12Alabama at Kentucky15:30
Sept. 19North Carolina at Clemson12:00
Sept. 19TBD15:30 ET

In addition to streaming on Disney+, these games will continue to be available to watch on their original network, whether it’s ABC or ESPN.

Similar to last season, Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will also have access to the College GameDay Built by the Home Depot pregame show.

While a nice improvement for Disney+ subscribers, and a major increase in football content in general, the vast majority of college football games won’t be available to watch on the streaming platform.

Due to this, football fans will still need access to ESPN and ABC if they want comprehensive access to college football over the season.
