Sling has now launched a new Sling Select plan for consumers to consider. The new live TV package starts at $19.99 a month and promises access to best of news, sports and entertainment.
The new Sling Select package arrives just one week after the launch of Day, Week, and Weekend Pass by Sling. Unlike those short-terms subscriptions, however, Sling Select is more of a direct, and cheaper, alternative to the main Sling Blue and Sling Orange base packages.
In return for a minimum of $19.99 a month, Sling Select subscribers get access to more than 10 live TV channels, including FOX News, NFL Network, FS1, FX, and National Geographic, among others.
Base Channels Included With Sling Select:
- FOX News
- FS1
- FX
- National Geographic
- NFL Network
- LMN (Lifetime Movie Network)
- GSN (Game Show Network)
- GRIT
- H&I
- MeTV
- Vice
In select markets where ABC, Fox, and NBC are available, Sling Select subscribers also get access to these local channels.
However, access to local channels does increase the minimum cost. For example, in areas where one or two local channels are available, Sling Select subscribers can expect to pay an additional $5 a month, taking the minimum cost up to $24.99 a month.
Likewise, in areas where all three local channels are available, an additional $10 will be added to the price, increasing the minimum cost to $29.99 a month.
Similar to Sling Orange and Blue, as well as Day, Week, and Weekend Pass, Sling Select subscribers also have the option of bundling any of Sling’s ‘Extra’ channels packs with their base live TV package.
While Extra packs also add to the additional monthly cost, they can be a good way to increase the quantity and variety of channels available.
If considering signing up to Sling Select, and accessing this live TV package in a busier household, subscribers can stream on up to three devices at the same time.
