What You Need to Know

  • Sling TV dropped to 1.71 million subscribers in Q2 2026, its lowest level since 2017.
  • Dish TV also declined, with the subscriber base dropping down to 4.68 million.
  • Overall, EchoStar ended the quarter with fewer total pay‑TV subscribers than last quarter and last year.

Sling TV closed out the first quarter of the year with 1.79 million subscribers, resulting in a subscriber decline of around 80,000.

While not the largest subscriber drop in recent times, it does continue a trend that has seen Sling TV’s subscriber base continually decline.

In fact, we have to go back as far as the summer of 2017 to find a time when Sling TV last hit 1.7 million subscribers. That’s even earlier than our live TV streaming subscriber tracker covers.

Not to mention, the difference then was Sling TV climbed to 1.7 million, unlike now when the subscriber base has declined to 1.7 million.

On a year over year basis, Sling TV ended the second quarter of 2025 with 1.785 million subscribers, resulting in a decline of around 75,000 over the past twelve months.

As part of its latest quarterly results, EchoStar also confirmed Dish TV ended the most recent quarter with 4.68 million subscribers.

Similar to Sling TV, this also marked a decline, dropping around 160,000 from the 4.84 million reported for the end of the first quarter of 2026. On an annual basis, Dish TV lost around 640,000 subscribers over the past twelve months.

Overall, EchoStar confirmed it ended Q2 2026 with 6.39 million pay-TV subscribers in total. This is down on the 6.6 million reported for the first quarter of 2026, and down on the 7.11 million pay-TV subscribers reported for the second quarter of 2025.
