NFL Network and NFL RedZone are back on Sling TV, following what appears to have been a last-minute deal for the return of both sports channels to Sling and Dish. The return also appears to be instant with Sling TV subscribers now able to access both channels through the same plan options before they were dropped.

With the 2020 NFL season now getting underway, access to channels like NFL Network and NFL RedZone are in high demand. In fact, after a period of the two channels being unavailable though most of the major live TV streaming services, consumers now suddenly have a variety of options to choose from.

While firm details on the deal have not been announced yet, Sling TV confirmed the return of the two channels in a Tweet. As Sling explains, NFL Network has once again been added to the Sling Blue package, while NFL RedZone returns to the optional Sports Extra add-on.

NFL returns and just in time

The return of NFL Network and NFL RedZone to Sling TV arrives shortly after YouTube TV struck its own deal to add the same NFL channels to its service. Similar to Sling, YouTube TV includes NFL Network in its base package with subscribers able to add NFL RedZone through YouTube TV’s new Sports Plus add-on.

Of course, Sling TV is a much cheaper option for new subscribers with its Blue plan ($30) and Sports Extra add-on ($10) costing $40 overall. In comparison, YouTube TV charges $65 for a base subscription and an additional $10.99 per month for Sports Plus, bringing the overall total to $75.99 per month. fuboTV also offers both channels with terms very similar to YouTube TV, considering a Family subscription costs $64.99 per month and the $10.99 Sports Plus add-on is required to access NFL RedZone.

For existing subscribers, NFL Network and NFL RedZone should already be accessible through their plans, if on Blue with Sports Plus. For those currently experiencing issues accessing either of those channels, Sling advises subscribers to restart the app. Likewise, if attempting to stream through a browser, to clear the cache or stream through the browser’s incognito mode.
