Sling TV has Reelz but subscribers need to pay extra to access the channel, as it is not available with any of Sling’s base plans. Still, considering the low cost of Sling TV in general, adding Reelz may result in a cheaper monthly price compared to going with a live TV service that include Reelz in its base plan. Not to mention, adding Reelz through Sling also adds a bunch of other entertainment channels as well.
Sling offers two main plans – Sling Orange and Sling Blue. Both plans are very similar overall and even cost the same each month. However, each plan is aimed at a different type of viewer which does mean that some of the channels are only available with one of the plans. Sling does also offer a combined Sling Orange & Blue plan which opens up access to all of the channels available through both plans.
Unfortunately, Reelz is not one of the channels included in either the Sling Orange or the Sling Blue plan. This also automatically means that upgrading to the Sling Orange & Blue plan won’t unlock Reelz either. However, Sling TV does have Reelz and the channel can be added to any of the base plans through the Hollywood Extra add-on, albeit at an additional monthly cost.
Hollywood Extra is only one of the many add-ons available through Sling TV. The add-on costs $6 per month so if it is added to either the Sling Orange or Sling Blue plan, it will increase the cost to $41 per month. If bundling with the combined Sling Orange & Blue plan, then subscribers will end up paying $56 per month for their base plan and access to Reelz.
Hollywood Extra is more than just Reelz
Although Hollywood Extra is an add-on that requires an additional cost each month, it does offer more than just Reelz. In total, the number of additional channels that a household gains access to with the Hollywood Extra add-on is up to 14. The exact number will depend on which base plan the add-on is being bundled with. For example, if adding Hollywood Extra to the Sling Orange base plan, consumers gain access to another 9 channels including Reelz.
If adding to the Sling Blue plan, subscribers gain access to another 10 channels including Reelz, FXM, and FXX. The standard FX channel is available with the Sling Blue plan but not Sling Orange which is why Blue subscribers gain access to the additional FX channels and Orange subscribers don’t. Considering the combined Sling Orange & Blue plan brings together all of the channels available with both base plans, it also adds all of the Hollywood Extra channels when bundled with the add-on.
Below is the list of all of the channels included with Hollywood Extra.
Hollywood Extra | Orange | Blue | Orange & Blue |
---|---|---|---|

As the table above shows, most channels, including Reelz, are available regardless of which plan the add-on is bundled with, while FXX and FXM are only available with certain plans. It is also worth noting that no matter which base plan the Hollywood Extra add-on is bundled with, subscribers do gain access to Sling TV’s TV Everywhere support. This means that subscribers can head over to the Reelz Now website or download the Reelz Now app on a supported device and use their existing Sling TV login details to watch live or access additional on-demand content.
Reelz on Sling TV summary
Reelz is available on Sling TV but not when only subscribed to the Sling Orange, Blue, or Orange & Blue plan. Instead, subscribers will need to add the Hollywood Extra add-on to their base subscription to gain access to Reelz. No matter which plan Hollywood Extra is bundled with, the cost of the add-on is an additional $6 per month on top of the cost of the base subscription.
Hollywood Extra not only provides access to Reelz but some other entertainment-focused channels as well. The exact number and selection does depend on which base plan the add-on is bundled with. If adding to the Blue or the combined Orange & Blue plan, subscribers get access to all of the channels available with Hollywood Extra including Reelz.
