Sling TV Will Offer a $1 Day Pass During March Madness, But Only If An Underdog Makes It To The Final 16

Sling TV has announced its latest promotion, and while it does make it possible to get 24 hours of March Madness for just $1, it comes with a big caveat – the offer will only be available if an underdog wins their first two games.

March Madness begins this Sunday (March 15) with selections. Games will then tip off next Tuesday (March 17) and continue through until April 6 with the NCAA championship game.

For those interested in watching the action unfold live, Sling TV can be a good and cheap option. The live TV service not only offers standard monthly plans to cover the whole tournament, but it also offers 1, 3, and 7 Day Pass subscriptions, making it possible to only pay for the games you want to watch.

For those looking to save even more on the cost, Sling plans to offer an ‘Underdogs‘ promotions later this month, potentially reducing the cost of a 1-Day Pass down to just $1.

That is providing you’ve already purchased a Pass and one of the No. 12 to No. 16 seeds advances to the Final 16 (Sweet 16) round.

Basically, college basketball fans will need to have purchased either a 1-Day ($4.99), 3-Day ($9.99), or 7-Day Pass (14.99) between March 19 and March 22 (the first day of the men’s tournament and the last day of the men’s second round).

If one of the No. 12-16 teams then advance to the final 16, those customers who previously purchased a Pass will be able to get their next 1-Day Pass for only $1.

According to Sling, this will happen relatively automatically, with eligible customers receiving an email with the option to redeem their $1 Day Pass.

The $1 Pass will then be available to redeem between March 26 and April 6 (the first day of the second weekend and the men’s championship game).

As Sling puts it, “when underdogs win, you win” — just in case you needed another reason to root for an underdog.
