Sling TV’s Weekend Pass has now been replaced with an all-new 3-Day Pass. While no difference in terms of the duration, the new pass option means it can be used at any time.

  • Sling TV has swapped its Weekend Pass for a new 3-Day Pass, usable anytime, not just weekends.
  • The 3-Day Pass costs $9.99 and unlocks access to the Sling Orange plan for three full days.
  • Sling says the decision to remove the weekend-only restriction was the direct result of customer feedback.

Sling launched its new Passes earlier this year. Although they have since resulted in a legal dispute with Disney, they are game-changing in the sense that they make it easier for consumers to access a live TV package on a very short-term basis.

At launch, Sling offered a Day Pass, Week Pass and a Weekend Pass. These are all fairly self-explanatory with consumers able to access live TV on a day, week or weekend basis.

With the Weekend Pass now replaced with a new 3-Day Pass, consumers now have the option of signing up to a live TV plan for a full three days regardless of whether those days are over the weekend or weekdays.

At Sling TV, our mission has always been to put the customer first by delivering TV your way, and that means listening when they tell us how we can be even better,” said Seth Van Sickel, Senior Vice President, Sling TV.

Sling said the decision to eliminate the weekend-only restriction is a direct result of customer feedback, with customers wanting access to the ability to purchase three continuous days of live television whenever they need it.

Our customers asked for more flexibility, saying they wanted to use their pass when they needed it, not when the calendar dictated. The new Sling TV 3-Day Pass lets subscribers decide exactly when their three days of live TV starts. This change is purely about enhancing consumer choice and ensuring Sling TV remains the leader in providing the most valuable and flexible viewing experience possible,” added Seth Van Sickel.

With the change now in effect, Sling TV offers a 1-Day, 3-Day, and 7-Day Pass, in addition to its traditional monthly packages.

The change also hasn’t resulted in any changes to the price, with the new 3-Day Pass priced at $9.99, and still offering access to the Sling Orange base package.
