SNY Officially Removed From Fubo After No New Deal Agreed

Following a warning earlier this week, SNY has now officially been dropped from Fubo‘s channel lineup. The regional sports network was removed due to a carriage dispute between Fubo and SportsNet New York.

SNY was removed at 5 p.m. ET on April 9, so existing subscribers may have already noted the absence of the channel in their live guide. Fubo has also published a new help post confirming the removal of the channel.

As Fubo explains:

It is always Fubo’s mission to offer a leading package of premium sports, news and entertainment content while also providing value and keeping your costs as low as possible. Fubo and SportsNet New York (SNY) were unable to reach a new agreement despite our best efforts to do so.”

While it is not unusual for removed channels to be added back again, it currently seems unlikely that SNY will make its way back to Fubo’s channel lineup anytime soon. Fubo has also confirmed that it will not be offering refunds or credits to affected subscribers following the loss of the channel.

As SNY is a regional sports network, the removal of the channel will only affect Fubo subscribers residing in the sports network’s broadcast territory. For Mets fans, Fubo advises that “select games” can still be watched on PIX11 (NYC CW station), ESPN, FOX, MLB Network and MLB.TV, depending on their location.

If now considering switching to an alternate live TV streaming service to regain access to SNY, the only options are DirecTV Stream and Hulu Live TV.

While DirecTV Stream offers multiple plans for new subscribers to choose from, regional sports networks typically require a subscription to Choice or higher. DirecTV Stream’s Choice package costs $108.99 a month and new subscribers can currently save $10 a month for the first three months, as part of a limited-time promotion.

If opting to go the Hulu Live TV route, SNY is included with the base plan at $76.99 a month. The Hulu Live TV base plan also provides access to the basic Hulu catalog, Disney+ and ESPN+ at no additional cost.
