Spectrum TV customers have now gained access to Discovery+. As the access is included with their live TV package, streaming the varied Discovery+ library is available to these customers at no additional cost.
What You Need to Know
- Spectrum TV Select customers now receive the ad‑supported version of Discovery+ at no extra cost.
- Customers can choose to upgrade to the ad‑free Discovery+ tier for $4/mo if they want a commercial‑free experience.
- Charter customers without a traditional TV package can purchase Discovery+ à la carte through the Spectrum App Store.
Back in 2024, Charter confirmed it had struck a new agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery that would allow Spectrum TV Select customers to get access to the ad-supported versions of HBO Max and Discovery+.
Later that same year, HBO Max (Max at the time) became available to eligible customers at no additional cost.
While it may have taken significantly longer, Spectrum TV customers with eligible plans have also now gained access to Discovery+ and its varied library of popular reality, lifestyle shows, and documentaries from the likes of HGTV, Food Network, TLC and Investigation Discovery.
“The inclusion of Discovery+ extends the value Spectrum TV delivers to customers with more choice and flexibility in what and how to watch,” said Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President of Programming Acquisition at Spectrum. “We’re meeting customers wherever they are by bringing live TV and streaming together so they can enjoy Discovery+ and other popular apps without managing separate subscriptions and with built-in cost savings.”
The no-cost access is limited to the ad-supported version of Discovery+ but Spectrum TV customers do have the option of upgrading to the ad-free version for $4 a month.
Spectrum TV customers can activate their Discovery+ subscription via the Spectrum App Store.
Charter customers without a traditional TV package now also have the option of purchasing Discovery+ à la carte through the Spectrum App Store.
“By making Discovery+ available as part of Spectrum TV Select and giving customers without a traditional TV plan the ability to purchase à la carte, we’re extending the reach of our world-class portfolio and making it even more convenient for fans to watch their favorite home, food, true crime, relationships and lifestyle programming as part of their existing Spectrum experience,” said Scott Miller, President, Networks and Streaming Distribution, Warner Bros. Discovery.
HBO Max and Discovery+ are just two of a long list of streaming services that Spectrum TV customers have gained access to over the past couple of years.
Some of the other streaming services Spectrum TV customers can already save on include AMC+, the Disney+ and Hulu bundle, ESPN Unlimited, Fox One, Paramount+, Peacock, and ViX.
