Max is now available to all Spectrum TV Select customers, and at no additional cost. The availability of Max follows a new distribution agreement announced earlier this year between Charter and Warner Bros. Discovery.
At the time of the announcement, it was unclear exactly when Max would go live for Charter customers. Beginning today, however, eligible customers can access the ad-supported version of Max as part of their existing package.
The Max (With Ads) tier typically costs $9.99 a month and provides access to a wide variety of Warner Bros. Discovery content, including Max Originals, HBO Originals, and popular programs from Adult Swim, ID, HGTV, and TLC, among other networks. This is also in addition to movies from Warner Bros. Pictures, Turner Classic Movies, A24, and Studio Ghibli.
Spectrum TV Select customers interested in checking their eligibility for Max and activating the subscription can now do so through the Spectrum website. Once the subscription is activated, Spectrum customers will then be able to access Max on any supported device.
The availability of Max follows a wide variety of services that Charter has agreed new deals for recently. This year, for example, Spectrum customers have gained access to AMC+, BET+, Disney+, ESPN+, Paramount+, Peacock, and ViX Premium.
“Integrating services like Max into Spectrum TV Select furthers our goal of offering fulsome video products that include the best of linear and streaming programming,” said Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President, Programming Acquisition for Charter Communications, Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand.
Likewise, Max has also been on its own expansion of late. Warner Bros. Discovery has not only continued its Max European expansion this year, but has also found additional distribution avenues for the streaming service, including new bundle opportunities.
“Launching Max with Spectrum is a key part of our landmark deal with Charter, and an exciting new place for millions of homes across the country to enjoy our premium streaming content,” said Scott Miller, Warner Bros. Discovery President of Networks and Streaming Distribution.
