T-Mobile customers can currently get six months of Quibi for free. The promotion is part of the T-Mobile Tuesdays program and so it is only available for a limited time.

In spite of Quibi being one of the newer streaming services, it is a little bit different to the rest. The service has been designed to cater to watching content on a smartphone. As a result, Quibi focuses entirely on short-form content with every video lasting less than ten minutes.

T-Mobile subscribers interested in getting a free Quibi subscription can do so simply by downloading the T-Mobile Tuesdays app from the Google Play Store or the App Store. Once downloaded and logged in using their T-Mobile phone number, they will then be able to save the promotion to their T-Mobile Tuesdays account.

After saving the promotion, the T-Mobile customer will see a ‘redeem’ button in the app and once clicked they will be automatically redirected to the Quibi app download page. Once the app has been downloaded, the promotion will be linked and visible on the sign-up page.

Quibi deal restrictions and limitations

As to be expected, there are some caveats. The main one, other than being a T-Mobile customer, is that the deal is only available to new Quibi subscribers. Another is that as this is a limited-time promotion and the code has to be saved and redeemed before October 13, 2020.

It is also worth noting that the deal is only for the ad-supported version of Quibi. Likewise, once the extended free trial has ended, the subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription, charged at $4.99 per month.

Another restriction, albeit not one to do with the T-Mobile deal is device support. As Quibi is designed primarily for smartphones, Quibi cannot be downloaded on other devices, including smart TVs and streaming players. However, the company did recently add Chromecast and AirPlay support, so although the app cannot be downloaded on other devices, the subscriber can send Quibi videos from their phone to a streaming player or smart TV.

T-Mobile does also offers a free one-year Quibi subscription for those on an eligible plan. Therefore, T-Mobile customers should only really opt for this six-month option if they do not qualify for the existing ‘Quibi with us’ deal.
